Born in 1975 in north east England, Taylor studied furniture and product design at Nottingham Trent University. He began his career with London-based architects Procter Rihl before setting up his studio in 2002... Read more to realise his own designs. Development of the hm44 range with Hitch Mylius started in 2003. Taylor’s awards have included Elle Decoration Young Designer of the Year in 2005, and his designs have been acquired for the New York Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection. As well as designing for some of Europe’s leading design manufacturers including Zanotta, Established & Sons and ClassiCon, Taylor also lectures and has run workshops in the UK and internationally. He is a professor at the ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland and a visiting lecturer at the Royal College of Arts, Design Products.Since early 2009 Alexander has worked as a consultant for the Adidas performance division, as a partner developing innovative new projects, working closely with designers and development team. 2012 Olympic Games in London saw the culmination of one of the projects, this being the launch of the Adi-Zero ‘Primeknit’ shoe.
